A new law school class will soon be held at the University of Ottawa and it will be the very first of its kind as teachers will be teaching Cannabis Law. Courses will be dispensed in French and in English. This course will prepare the law students for complications which may appear after the canadian government’s planned legalization of marijuana.
Everyday legal implications could include many repercussions as where and when smoking is allowed in a company, how to deal with high employees or what happens with a situation of driving under the influence. “It’s important for law students to understand those impacts, because clients will have questions,” Dubois said. “They already do have questions.”
Bill C-45, the proposed Cannabis Act will be read and reviewed for a third time the 7th of June. Fingers crossed.
