Discover a face-to-face show with Bernard, famous hemp grower of Switzerland, in which he shares his knowledge and anecdotes. In this 10th episode, we learn about the curing process.
"As soon as the pistils start getting brown on the female flower, it’s a sign of maturity. So we cut the entire plants, then we carry them to the drying location and hang them entirely there. It dries for some weeks, once dried, we take down the plants. It is also possible to use electric or other kind of heating, fans and it is a fast methodology. Hemp flowers and leaves are green and includes chlorophyll. Then there is the natural (traditional) drying method within traditional tobacco drying wood farms, without energy consumption, and this is the one we have adopted. It is an ecological and ethical drying technique, which leaves plants drying slowly and gently. It allows us to develop a quality that contains very low chlorophyll."
